As expected, earlier today the European Commission published its Capital Markets Union (CMU) action plan and certain corresponding materials (linked here). The action plan follows on from earlier consultations and describes in high-level terms the various steps to be taken with respect to the creation of a single market for capital in Europe. Certain workstreams under the CMU are described to be short-term priorities, meaning that they are targeted for immediate action.
